Product Description

Gallic acid is a white or white crystalline powder, soluble in 85 parts water, 6 parts ethanol and 2 parts boiling water. It has many uses in pharmaceuticals, ink, dyes, food, light industry and organic synthesis. Gallic acid and trivalent iron ions to produce blue-black precipitation, is the raw material of blue-black ink; industry is also used in tanning; also can be used as a photographic developer. In addition, propyl gallate is an antioxidant and can be used in edible fats and oils to prevent rancidity and deterioration. In medicine, gallic acid is a hemostatic and astringent agent, and also a mild local irritant.
