Plant Form：Annual herb, about 30 cm tall. Stem erect, usually purplish-red. Leaves alternate, dichotomous, resembling compound leaves, long elliptic, 0.5-1.5 cm long, 0.2-0.5 cm wide, lly obtuse or with small acumen, base rounded, oblique, abaxially grayish white, both sides glabrous; petiole short, nearly sessile; stipules small, lanceolate. Capsule sessile, inserted biseriately under leaves, suborbicular, russet, surface with small scale-like projections; seeds gray-brown. Seeds gray-brown.
Distribution：Born in open grasslands, dry fields, forest margins, or wastelands near villages. It is distributed in Guangdong, Taiwan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Yunnan and other places.
Harvesting and processing： Harvest in summer and autumn. Pluck the whole grass, wash and dry.
Herb Properties：The whole grass is 10~40 cm long. Root yellowish white, with many fibrous roots. The stem is cylindrical, with branches; the base of the old stem is gray-brown; the young branch is gray-brown to brown, with wing-like sharp angles, brittle, hollow in the section. Leaves alternate, gray-green, long elliptic, oblique or with a small convex tip at the apex, oblique at the base, glabrous on both sides, almost sessile. The florets beneath the back of the leaves have dried, some with small pearl-like fruits. The smell is slightly fragrant, and the leaves taste slightly bitter.
Nature, Taste, and Etiquette：Cold in nature, slightly bitter in taste. It belongs to the liver and spleen meridians.
