Ammonium glycyrrhizate is a chemical substance which is mainly used in the treatment of chronic migratory hepatitis, chronic active hepatitis, hepatotoxicity, early cirrhosis, etc. Also called glycyrrhizic acid monoammonium hydrate; glycyrrhizic acid monoammonium hydrate; glycyrrhizic acid monoammonium salt; glycyrrhizic acid monoammonium salt hydrate; glycyrrhizic acid monoammonium; glycyrrhizin; glycyrrhizoside; potentin.

 

Appearance and properties: white powder with strong sweet taste, about 200 times sweeter than sucrose.

Solubility: soluble in ammonia, insoluble in glacial acetic acid.

Density: 1.43g/cm3

Melting point: 209ºC

Boiling point: 971.4ºC at 760mmHg

Flash point: 288.1ºC

Stability: stable at room temperature and pressure
